| Project Background |
| A superfund facility was in the process
of being capped with 4' of clean fill. During grading
operations one morning, several metallic drums were
exposed along the northern border of the site. Personnel
suspected illegal nighttime dumping had occurred, but
were unaware of the extent of the area impacted. Thus,
Geo-Graf was retained to perform a nonintrusive
subsurface investigation in an attempt to delineate the
extent of the drum pile. |

| Geo-Graf Investigation |
| Three areas were investigated with Ground Penetrating
Radar (GPR), Electromagnetics (EM), Radio Frequence (RF)
and Magnetics (MAG). In one of the investigated areas,
approximately 12 to 18 buried metallic drums were
detected by Geo-Graf. The drums were detected at various
orientations and depths ranging from 1' to 3' below the
surface. |

| GPR Data Profile |
| Please Wait as
the image below loads. It is actual radar data showing a
pile of illegally buried drums collected by Geo-Graf
engineers utilizing a 550 MHz GPR antenna. |

detected drum pile area. Multiple drum targets are shown
in the above profile below a layer of clean fill. 550 MHz
